The Most Important Blogposts in This Blog

This blogpost lists what I (subjectively) believe to be the most important blogposts in this blog. There are three sections. The first section is on the Deity of Christ. The second section is on the Trinity or the Plurality of God. The third section is on the Deity of the Holy Spirit. Each section has links to blogposts where the most important links (as I perceive it) are above, and with the lesser links below. For example, in the section on The Deity of Christ my blog "Identifying Jesus with Yahweh/Jehovah" (which is nearer the top) is much more important than my blogpost "The Spirit of Jesus" (which is near the bottom of the section).

  1. Hi ANNOYED PINOY, I'm Paul, and thank you for your link to this post of the trinity.
But that is simply not true, those are mans doctrines and assumptions and they are just not true.
Look A.P. we both know that THREE can never be ONE, no matter how hard they try to amalgamate the truth with a lie.
If the Lord Jesus Christ is NOT the Father, then the Lord Jesus Christ and the Father are TWO. But Jesus said, "I and the Father are ONE" (John 10:30), consequently Jesus and the Father are ONE and the same.
Even, if Jesus is in union with another person called Father, then they still are TWO who are in union with each other.

And remember, Jesus said that he who has seen Me has seen the Father (John 14:9).

Obviously there is no trinity in the Bible, and trinitarians make out God to be some kind of a Siamese triplet, perhaps joined at the hips :-)

    1. For those reading these comments, I interacted with Paul G in another blog HERE. I'll probably make many more comments there than in this blogpost.

Look A.P. we both know that THREE can never be ONE, no matter how hard they try to amalgamate the truth with a lie.

I wonder whether you are even familiar in what senses in which Trinitarians claim God is one and three? God is one in the sense of being (or essence). While God is three in the sense of person. The categories of being and person are different. "Being" has to do with the "stuff" of something, while "person" has to do with a different issue. For example, some Trinitarians understand "person" to refer to a "center of consciousness". Taken that way, God is one "What" and three "Whos". There's no contradiction there. The contradiction would be if someone claimed God is one in being and three in being (without equivocating on the word "being"). Just as it would be a contradiction to say that God is one in person and three in person (without equivocating on the word "person"). A rock, for example, has being, but it isn't a person because it lacks self-consciousness.

Regarding John 10:30, John Gill wrote:

Not in person, for the Father must be a distinct person from the Son, and the Son a distinct person from the Father; and which is further manifest, from the use of the verb plural, "I and [my] Father", (esmen) , "we are one"; that is, in nature and essence, and perfections, particularly in power; [bold by me- AP]

Prior to the incarnation the person of the Son was distinct from the Father [cf. John 17:5] and was [using a facial metaphor] "face to face" [so to speak] with the Father.

Vincent's Word Studies says regarding the phrase "Was with God":

Anglo-Saxon vers., mid Gode. Wyc., at God. With (πρός) does not convey the full meaning, that there is no single English word which will give it better. The preposition πρός, which, with the accusative case, denotes motion towards, or direction, is also often used in the New Testament in the sense of with; and that not merely as being near or beside, but as a living union and communion; implying the active notion of intercourse. Thus: “Are not his sisters here with us” (πρὸς ἡμᾶς), i.e., in social relations with us (Mar_6:3; Mat_13:56). “How long shall I be with you” (πρὸς ὑμᾶς, Mar_9:16). “I sat daily with you” (Mat_26:55). “To be present with the Lord” (πρὸς τὸν Κύριον, 2Co_5:8). “Abide and winter with you” (1Co_16:6). “The eternal life which was with the Father” (πρὸς τὸν πατέρα, 1Jo_1:2). Thus John's statement is that the divine Word not only abode with the Father from all eternity, but was in the living, active relation of communion with Him.

    2. Robertson's Word Pictures says:

With God (pros ton theon). Though existing eternally with God the Logos was in perfect fellowship with God. Pros with the accusative presents a plane of equality and intimacy, face to face with each other. In 1Jo_2:1 we have a like use of pros: “We have a Paraclete with the Father” (paraklēton echomen pros ton patera). See prosōpon pros prosōpon (face to face, 1Co_13:12), a triple use of pros. There is a papyrus example of pros in this sense to gnōston tēs pros allēlous sunētheias, “the knowledge of our intimacy with one another” (M.&M., Vocabulary) which answers the claim of Rendel Harris, Origin of Prologue, p. 8) that the use of pros here and in Mar_6:3 is a mere Aramaism. It is not a classic idiom, but this is Koiné, not old Attic. In Joh_17:5 John has para soi the more common idiom.

  2. Thank you A.P. for your response, I appreciate that.
Yes I am familiar with every trinitarian claim and with every flavor of this great deception called the trinity :-)
The Lord Jesus Christ has granted me to expose this evil and wicked doctrine called the trinity. That's why most of my posts and comments are against this doctrine who misleads the inquiring heart of those who sincerely want to know God.

I think that the Doctrine of God is the most important doctrine which is far above all other doctrines. If any man errs on that doctrine, he most likely will errs on all other doctrines of the Bible.

Before any man can understand the doctrine of God he or she must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His Word the Bible. By that I mean BELIEVE, not only acknowledge Jesus. He or she must start with the Lord Jesus Christ and end up with the Lord Jesus Christ, or their doctrine is false.

The problem and deception comes when people believe the theologians rather than the Lord Jesus Christ.
Theologians are good speakers who know how to cook up the wildest concoctions of nonsensical theories to confuse the simple minded who inquire of the Lord.
Perhaps go to their churches and listen to their converts how they pray to a God they do not know through a little god whom they call Jesus, and then they say at the end of their prayers, "in Jesus Name". Well, of course they call that the trinity, praying to one god through another god, and then with brazen faces they say that the THREE are ONE.
And when those theologians are exposed of their folly they turn to the Greek language or Hebrew and Aramaic to hide their ignorance.

Perhaps you can see that I do not have a good opinion of those theologians and I recommend that everyone would believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Theologians are NOT the truth and neither do they know the truth, for if they would know the truth they would preach the truth and the truth is Jesus Christ who claims to be the truth (John 14:6).
Therefore whoever believes and is preaching Jesus Christ, believes and preaches the truth, and whoever believes the theologians and preach their doctrines, promotes deceptions.

And by no means do trinitarians understand the doctrine of God, otherwise they would confess JESUS Christ as Lord, but as it is, they say that Jesus is NOT Lord (meaning God) alone. They say that Jesus Christ is lord with another entity called the Father.

Look A.P. If the Lord Jesus Christ is NOT your Father who is in heaven, then tell me, WHO then is your Father who is in heaven ?
Remember, for unto us is but ONE God and that is the Father (1 Corinthians 8:6), and next to the Father is NO other God. Therefore the Father IS the Lord Jesus Christ just as He has said (John 14:9 and John 10:30).

Not only that, the Scriptures commands you and everyone to worship the FATHER in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23), and look! whom did they worship in Spirit and in truth (Matthew 28:9) ?

Obviously, they worshipped the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. They took hold of His feet and worshipped Him.
They surely knew and understood the first and the second commandment of the Lord (Exodus 20:5).
I'm glad they listen to the Lord Jesus Christ and NOT to the theologians ;-)

  3. Paul G, I noticed that Steve closed comments on his blogpost. I posted more, but I don't know if Steve will approve my final posts. Sometimes he does approve of them. Anyway, here are my final comments. If you want to comment afterwards, you can, but I may not. In which case, you can have the last word.

...and the Lord Jesus Christ has granted me to expose that evil and wicked doctrine the trinity who has caused the nations and most of the churches to be lead astray.

Merely calling the doctrine of the Trinity wicked doesn't make it so. While it's true that some professed Trinitarians and Trinitarian denominations have sometimes done terrible things, in general God seems to have blessed Trinitarianism. Since the 4th century the greatest conservative Bible scholars have been Trinitarians. Along with the greatest theologians, apologists, evangelists, Bible exegetes/interpreters, missionaries, missionary agencies etc. It has been the Trinitarians who have had the best Bible translations, have had the greatest impact in advancing the Kingdom of God, have had the greatest revivals (e.g. the Reformation, The Great Awakening, the Second Great Awakening, etc.). It's been Trinitarians who have had the greatest reports of signs and wonders/miracles throughout Church History (and at present). Trinitarians who have built hospitals, colleges, universities, orphanages etc.

Where are the denominations which preach your Christology? What impact have they had? What are there Bible translations and Bible commentaries?

Please look around you and see, most of the churches are dead, perhaps as dead as a doornail.

You need to look outside your home country (whichever that is). Also, not only see things in terms of geography, but also in terms of world history and the past. At present it's the Trinitarians who have the best apologists. At present its Trinitarianism that's growing fastest globally around the world compared to competing Paterologies, Christologies and Pneumatologies.

And look and see, the mental asylums and hospitals are full of trinitarians, they all say that they believe in Jesus.

That shouldn't be surprising since Trinitarianism is the most common/popular understanding of the Biblical Triad. Similarly, there are more supernaturalists than atheists in jails. That doesn't make atheism true or supernaturalism false. It only makes sense that since the majority of Earth's population are supernaturalists (e.g. Christians, Jews, Muslims, New Agers, Occultists, Hindus etc.), that the majority of people in prisons are supernaturalists.

Now, if that ‘God’, here in the beginning for you is NOT the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, then it will be impossible for you to understand the rest of the Bible.

But you haven't addressed the passages I've cited that show that the personal distinctions between the persons of the Trinity existed both sans creation and from the beginning of creation. The beginning verses of the gospel of John tell us that both the Father and the Word together created the universe. In Genesis we know that the Spirit of God hovered over the waters at creation. I cited 1 Cor. 8:6 which says that God created through the Son. Then there's also Heb. 1:2, Col. 1:16ff which also teach that the Father created THROUGH the Son.

Remember (Colossians 1:15-20 and John 1:3-10), that everything was created by the Lord Jesus Christ and for the Lord Jesus Christ and nothing came into being apart from the Lord Jesus.

Actually, Col. 1:16 and John 1:3 explicitly state that creation was performed THROUGH the AGENCY of the Son. It doesn't say that only the person of the Son was there.

    1. NO! absolutely NO!, the creator God is NOT Jehovah or Yahweh as the trinitarians like us to believe.

"Thus says YHVH, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: “I am YHVH, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself,"- Isa. 44:24

Isaiah clearly teaches YHVH created. The name "Jehovah" and "Yahweh" are attempted reconstructions of the covenant name of God.

If those trinitarians would know the Scriptures and only think for a moment, they would know that YHWH is NOT a name.

The following verses show that YHVH or the shortened YH is God's covenant name. I quote from the ASV which translated both YHVH and YH as Jehovah. These are just a sampling of verses I could have quoted.

      Genesis

4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh. Then began men to call upon the name of Jehovah.

13:4 unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of Jehovah.

21:33 And [Abraham] planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of Jehovah, the Everlasting God.

26:25 And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of Jehovah, and pitched his tent there. And there Isaac's servants digged a well.

      Exodus

6:3 and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Jehovah I was not known to them.

15:3 Jehovah is a man of war: Jehovah is his name.

20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of Jehovah thy God in vain; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

      Psalms

7:17 I will give thanks unto Jehovah according to his righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of Jehovah Most High.

8:1 O Jehovah, our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth, Who hast set thy glory upon the heavens!

8:9 O Jehovah, our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth!

20:7 Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; But we will make mention of the name of Jehovah our God.

30:4 Sing praise unto Jehovah, O ye saints of his, And give thanks to his holy memorial [name].

34:3 Oh magnify Jehovah with me, And let us exalt his name together.

54:6 With a freewill-offering will I sacrifice unto thee: I will give thanks unto thy name, O Jehovah, for it is good.

68:4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: Cast up a highway for him that rideth through the deserts; His name is Jehovah; and exult ye before him.

83:16 Fill their faces with confusion, That they may seek thy name, O Jehovah.

83:18 That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, Art the Most High over all the earth.

96:2 Sing unto Jehovah, bless his name; Show forth his salvation from day to day.

97:12 Be glad in Jehovah, ye righteous; And give thanks to his holy memorial [name].

YHWH are four letters meaning absolutely NOTHING. You cannot even pronounce those four letters.

If they mean nothing, why are they in the Bible? Just because it's not now presently clear what the proper pronunciation of YHVH was, doesn't mean it wasn't known during BIBLICAL TIMES. It was. Also, while I don't think it's essential to know the proper pronunciation, I suspect the proper pronunciation is "Yehovah" based on the research of Nehemia Gordon a Karaite Jew. The emphasis should be on the last of the three syllables "vah".

    2. You see, in the Old Testament the Name of God has NOT been given and NOBODY knew the Name of God.

Regarding Genesis 32:29, that has to do with the angel that Jacob wrestled with. So, Jacob likely didn't know at the time that it was the pre-incarnate Christ (in all likelihood based on Hos. 12:4-5 and other passages). Regarding Exodus chapter 3, Moses was asking God what His name was and God was revealing it to him. The patriarchs either didn't know it, or forgot it, or knew it but didn't know what it meant. God revealed to Moses what it was and what it meant. Regarding Judges 13:17-18, that passage deals with the Angel of YHVH. I agree that the Angel of YHVH is also YHVH, but OT saints didn't always know that. The Angel/Messenger of YHVH is distinct from the YHVH who sent Him, yet He Himself is also YHVH (e.g. Zech. 3:2).

Nobody knew God’s Name in the Old Testament. (In the O.T. God’s Name was concealed, and in the N.T. God’s Name is revealed)

No, they did know it, that's why it was forbidden to use God's name in vain in the 3rd Commandment.

      ...with the Name JESUS.

Jesus is an Anglicized transliteration of the Greek name Ἰησοῦς. Which itself is a Greek rendition of the Hebrew name of Yeshua. Which is itself a shorted form of Yehoshua. Notice that it's a theophoric name. Meaning a name in which the name of one's God is embedded. In Hebrew, when the name of God was added at the front it was spelled "Yeho". When added at the back, "yahu". That's why both "Yehoshua" and "Yeshayahu" mean "YHVH saves". So, Jesus' name Yeshua/Yehoshua means, "YHVH Saves".

And if the Lord Jesus Christ is the FIRST, then He is the Father, just as He has said.

Jesus the Son can be called the "First and the Last" because He shares the same nature with the Father. That's why the Father can also be called the "First and the Last".

Again, If the Father is NOT the Son, then THEY are TWO entities, and trinitarians are clearly saying the the Father is NOT the Son.

They share the same BEING, but they are not the same PERSON. There are three persons, but only one being.

Regarding 2 Cor. 3:17-18, different exegetes disagree on how to interpret the passage. But that shouldn't distract from the dozens and dozens and dozens of times the Holy Spirit is distinguished from the Father and/or the Son.

And NO my friend, God did NOT created the world and everything in it “THROUGH” somebody else, otherwise THEY would be TWO, but God is ONE and NOT two, and God is called ‘HE’ singular and NOT ‘THEY’ plural.

    3. You need to read my blogpost: Old Testament Passages Implying Plurality in God

      http://trinitynotes.blogspot.com/2014/08/old-testament-passages-implying.html

      Here's a sample:

Anthony Rogers pointed out, "The word Elohim is used thousands of times for “God”; Adonai is used hundreds of times for “Lord”; both of these words are plural nouns in Hebrew."

Nick Norelli in his book The Defense of an Essential: A Believer’s Handbook for Defending the Trinity listed the following:

      1. Plural Verbs

      o Genesis 20:13

English Translation: God caused me to wander

      Hebrew: ה התתְעוו ו אלתהים, א אלֹל ה היםם

Literally: They caused me to wander

      o Genesis 35:7

      English Translation: God appeared

      Hebrew: נהגתְלֹו ו א אלֹלָיםו לָ ה א אלֹל ה היםם

      Literally: They appeared

      o 2Samuel 7:23

      English Translation: God went

      Hebrew: לָ הלֹתְכוו ו -א א אלֹל ה היםם

      Literally: They went

      o Psalms 58:12

      English Translation: God that judges

      Hebrew: א אלֹל ה היםם ששלפתְ ה טיםם

      Literally: Gods that judge

      2. Plural Adjectives

      o Deuteronomy 5:26

      English Translation: living God

      Hebrew: א אלֹל ה היםם ח חים ה יםום

      Literally: Living Gods8

      o Joshua 24:19

      English Translation: holy God

      Hebrew: א אלֹל ה היםם תְ קדֹלששהיםם

      Literally: Holy Gods

      3. Plural Nouns

      o Ecclesiastes 12:1

      English Translation: thy Creator

      Hebrew: בוולרתְ אֶ איםךלָ

      Literally: Creators

      o Isaiah 54:5

English Translation: For thy Maker is thy husband

      Hebrew: בל ע עולֹחיִךתְ עולששחיִךתְ

      Literally: Makers, Husbands9

      o Malachi 1:6

      English Translation: Master

      Hebrew: ע אדֹולנהיםם

      Literally: Masters10

      o Daniel 7:18

      English Translation: Most High

      Hebrew: אֶ עולֹתְיםולנהיםן

      Literally: Most High Ones

      footnotes:

      8 See also 1Samuel 17:26, 36 & Jeremiah 10:10, 23:36 for “living Gods”

9 See also Psalm 149:2 for “Makers”

10 Nearly every occurrence of the noun “Lord” ( ע אדֹולנהים ) in reference to God appears in the plural form.

This excerpt from Nick's book was taken from a larger excerpt that can be downloaded HERE

As Anthony Rogers says in one of his articles:

When all is said and done, the Old Testament uses plural nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives for God.

Meaning, plural nouns, plural pronouns, plural verbs, plural adverbs, and plural adjectives for God.

Here you can see that the Lord did not created anything THROUGH someone else.

You need to read the Isa. 44:24 in light of NT revelation. I've already cited passages which show that creation was made THROUGH [I believe "dia" in Greek] the Son/Word.

    4. Correction:
I said, "Jesus is an Anglicized transliteration of the Greek name Ἰησοῦς." Actually, it might be that the English "Jesus" comes from the Greek by way of the Latin form of the name, "Iesu".

  4. Hi A.P. I think that Steve doesn’t post anymore comments. Hmmm, sad.
But again I like to say that I appreciate that you have the courage to take up the challenge concerning that destructive doctrine the trinity.
That is rare and most saints run to the hills when they are confronted with that so obvious nonsensical doctrine as the trinity.

On my blog I have an instant and unrestricted comment section where everybody can say whatever they like and however they like and in whatever tone they like. There are no rules and I never delete any comments whether they are good or bad, favorable or unfavorable, whether they call me good names or bad names makes no difference, and they can change the topic at any point and time they like.

I think that we are living in a time where Christians are not willing to put up with sound doctrines but yield to unbiblical and destructive doctrines like the doctrine of the trinity, which I claim to be the epitome and the masterpiece of Satan’s deception.
And by believing those doctrines they, the trinitarians become derailed and suffer the consequences their folly.

I want you to know A.J. , that I am NOT against you, but rather, that I am FOR YOU.
I do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities in wicked places, and sometimes we will be hurt in that process.
It is like when the men engage in warfare, cuts and bruises are unavoidable.

    OK, to your comments.
First, I do not comment in order to have the last word, and neither do I comment in order to be right. I do not have a puffed up ego who needs to be satisfied, I rather be wrong if I can win you for Jesus Christ who is the ONLY God our savior. (Jude 1:25).
And neither do I have a hidden agenda but a plain and simple agenda which is to win you FOR the Lord Jesus Christ ALONE and NO OTHER.

I call the trinity doctrine wicked because it divides the ONLY God who is ONE into TWO, as a matter of fact into THREE.
This wicked doctrine teaches contrary to the Scriptures, saying that God did NOT created everything all ALONE (Isaiah 44:24) it teaches contrary to Isaiah 44:24, saying that God created everything “THROUGH” someone else, just as you have said.

A.P. you are old enough to know that, when God created ALL things ALONE, He didn’t meant ‘THROUGH’ someone else.
Only someone with a perverted deceiving interest would try to twist the Scriptures and say and teach such a wicked doctrines.
The moment anyone is willingly to accept such a blatant lie, deception has entered such a man.
From here on such a man WILL believe everything which is false, and will find justification from other men and from other books and texts and languages etc.

  5. A.P. the name Jehovah is absolutely NOT ONCE mentioned in all the verses you have quoted. NO A.P. NOT even ONCE ! Just open the Bible and read it (Gen. 4:6, 13:4, 21:33, 26:25, Exodus 6:3, 15:3, 20:7 Psalm 7:17, 8:1, 8:9, 20:7, 30:4, 54:6, 68:4, 83:18, 96:2, 97:12).
You see, NOT ONCE ! you are making that up because you don’t want to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.
The Jehovah Witnesses know the Bible, and even they will tell you that the name Jehovah is not written in the Bible, they say that the name Jehovah is RENDERED out of the four letters YHWH.
But I say that the Jehovah Witnesses and the trinitarians need a wild imagination to cook up a name from YHWH.
The Jehovah Witnesses are equally deceived just as all trinitarians.
Seemingly you believe those trinitarian gurus more than you believe the Scriptures.

Remember, the Lord Jesus said that if you do NOT know that HE is the God of all the Scriptures YOU will die in your sins (John 8:24).

And, do you want me to tell you what that means in English ?
Just read the Bible and believe what it says in the Bible A.P.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Also, for anyone who reads this comment and is a trinitarian who honestly desires to know and understand the Scriptures.
Here is a key, an important fact which everyone needs to know.
Please read it slowly and think about it.

Because the Lord Jesus Christ is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last (Revelation 2:8), therefore the Lord Jesus Christ is without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life (Hebrews 7:3).

THEREFORE the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, must by necessity speak metaphorically (which is FIGURATIVELY) about the FATHER.

About the Father, Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you in ‘FIGURATIVE’ language; an hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in FIGURATIVE language, but I will tell you PLAINLY of the Father.” (John 16:25)

Therefore, every time WITHOUT EXCEPTION, when the Lord Jesus Christ is speaking about the Father, He is speaking metaphorically.

OK, for all of you who have been ensnared or derailed by this UNBIBLICAL and evil doctrine the trinity, consider the High Priestly prayer of the Lord Jesus Christ in John chapter 17.

Because the Lord Jesus Christ is WITHOUT sin, therefore He does NOT need to pray, (GOD does not need to pray).
ONLY sinners need to pray like YOU and ME, but certainly NOT the Lord of glory Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
So then, WHY did the Lord Jesus pray (John 17) ?

No, you don’t need to know what it means in GREEK and in HEBREW, you need to know in English why the Lord Jesus prayed.
And for everyone of you who does not know, the reason is, because you have FALSE teachers and Shepherds over you who do not tell you the truth.
And obviously you don’t listen to the warnings of the Lord.

And since I am exposing this UNBIBLICAL, evil and wicked doctrine the trinity. Therefore tell me, if you would believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last (Rev. 2:8), then TO WHOM was the Lord Jesus speaking on the cross of Calvary, when He said, 'Father forgive them for they do not know what they do' ?

To ANOTHER Alpha and Omega ?? :-)

Please tell me, if you know ?
Perhaps, if you would use the KEY, maybe you could know :-)

"Trinitarians are skilled in deception and say that 'YHWH' is the name of God, and that is certainly NOT true! YHWH are four letters meaning absolutely NOTHING. You cannot even pronounce those four letters."

That's such an ignorant argument. The original Hebrew text is a consonantal text, so none of the words in the OT has vowels. By your logic, that means the OT doesn't have any names for anyone or anything. No proper names or place names, since all we have are consonants. By your logic, "Abraham" is not a name, "Joseph" is not a name, "Noah" is not a name, "David" is not a name, "Jeremiah" is not a name, "Zion" is not a name, "Egypt" is not a name, "Jerusalem" is not a name, &c., since it's just a consonantal text!

What your argument overlooks is the distinction between the spoken word and the written word, or how the spoken were was represented in writing. Speakers knew how Hebrew words were pronounced, so when they read a text, they mentally supplied the vowels.

This is the comment from Steve’s blog.

You see A.P. it looks like Steve is not going to answer. Well, trinitarians have that problem, when they are exposed of their utterly blatant nonsensical doctrine of the trinity, they just don’t talk to you anymore. :-) They run to the hills :-)

Tell me, which argument is ignorant ? That nobody is able to pronounce those four letters YHWH?
Certainly Steve, you and I are not able to pronounce those four letters.

Steve said, “The original Hebrew text is a consonantal text, so none of the words in the OT has vowels.”

What, am I reading you correctly, NONE of the OT words have vowels ?
Tell me, how many vowels does the name ‘Noah’ have ? and how many vowels does the name ‘David’ have ? Or Jeremiah, Abraham etc. ?

Well, we don’t need to look very far to see an ignorant argument.
If trinitarians don’t know what a vowel is in English, how will they know what a vowel is in Hebrew.

The reason for trinitarians NOT to believe the Bible is, because they are scared that their folly and deception might be exposed.

As for you A.P. guard your heart with ALL diligence and don’t believe that devilish doctrine the trinity.
    Paul :-)

  8. Hi A.P, God is certainly NOT a plurality as those trinitarian theologians teach.
Throughout the entire Bible God is not even ONCE addressed plural (they), NO, not even ONCE !
He is ALWAYS called 'HE' ! Without exception. That is because HE alone is God.

Only theologians who don't know God would teach that kind of nonsense.
They teach those lies because they don't want to call the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth "LORD".
And (Genesis 1:26) does NOT say that there were three God-persons in the beginning.

I think that those trinitarians don't read their Bibles properly, and neither do thy understand the Scriptures.
If they would understand the Scriptures, they would give all the glory to the Lord Jesus Christ and to NO other. But as it is they are ignorant of the knowledge of God.

  9. ...concerning that destructive doctrine the trinity...........with that so obvious nonsensical doctrine as the trinity.

Calling it destructive and nonsensical doesn't make it so. The very Puritans you allude to thought the doctrine of the Trinity as essential and glorious.

I call the trinity doctrine wicked because it divides the ONLY God who is ONE into TWO, as a matter of fact into THREE.

No the doctrine of the Trinity does not "divide" God into three. It distinguishes the three persons who share the one indivisible being of God.

This wicked doctrine teaches contrary to the Scriptures, saying that God did NOT created everything all ALONE (Isaiah 44:24) it teaches contrary to Isaiah 44:24, saying that God created everything “THROUGH” someone else, just as you have said.

You nee to read the OT in light of the fuller, brighter and clearer teaching of the NT. And the NT clearly teaches that God the Father created through the Son (as I've cited in my comments to you in this blogpost as well as at Steve's blogpost).

A.P. the name Jehovah is absolutely NOT ONCE mentioned in all the verses you have quoted. NO A.P. NOT even ONCE !

Your statement goes contrary to the views of virtually ALL theologians and Bible commentaries both Christian, Jewish, Secular, before the time of Christ, and after the time of Christ. It's the most ridiculous position to take. No scholar hold to such an unBiblical and unhistorical position. Your view is such a minority view that it's virtually non-existent. All of Christian and Jewish history contradicts your view that God didn't have a Covenant name in the OT Age and that He didn't reveal it.

The Jehovah Witnesses know the Bible, and even they will tell you that the name Jehovah is not written in the Bible, they say that the name Jehovah is RENDERED out of the four letters YHWH.

Steve Hays already addressed this. The original OT was a consonantal text. Just like every other word and name in the OT, so God's name had to have vowels read into them. Above I already linked to resources where I suspect the original vowel pointing has been recovered and rediscovered.

Seemingly you believe those trinitarian gurus more than you believe the Scriptures.

Seemingly you believe yourself against the avalanche of evidences, arguments and scholars on my side that God did reveal His covenant name to the Jews in the Old Testament. It takes a lot of hubris to assume one is right against all the evidences, arguments and scholarship.

    1. Here is a key, an important fact which everyone needs to know.
Please read it slowly and think about it.

Your interpretation is not the only possible, or even likely and plausible interpretation. In fact, your interpretation is the least likely interpretation since the OT and NT clearly make a distinction between the Father and the Son (NT) and between YHVH and the Angel/Messenger of YHVH (OT).

Therefore, every time WITHOUT EXCEPTION, when the Lord Jesus Christ is speaking about the Father, He is speaking metaphorically.

      Non-sequitur.

Because the Lord Jesus Christ is WITHOUT sin, therefore He does NOT need to pray, (GOD does not need to pray).

Having sin is not a pre-requisite for praying. The elect angels haven't sinned, yet they pray to God. Also, your statement doesn't take into account what the doctrine of the Trinity teaches regarding the incarnation. Christ prayed because He was incarnated. Also, given some Trinitarian formulations, it's possible from an Intra-Trinitarian position for Jesus to pray to the Father. Though, this delves into areas of disagreement among Trinitarians that I don't need to go into now.

To ANOTHER Alpha and Omega ?? :-)

Again, you misunderstand the Trinitarian position(s). What can be said of the Being of God can be said of the persons. Therefore, Jesus and the Father are "Alpha and Omega" even though (the person of) Jesus is not the (person of the) Father and the (person of the) Father is not (the person of) Jesus. That's because they share the same being.

You see A.P. it looks like Steve is not going to answer. Well, trinitarians have that problem, when they are exposed of their utterly blatant nonsensical doctrine of the trinity, they just don’t talk to you anymore. :-) They run to the hills :-)

No, Steve refuted your ridiculous position by taking it to its logical conclusion.

Tell me, which argument is ignorant ? That nobody is able to pronounce those four letters YHWH?
Certainly Steve, you and I are not able to pronounce those four letters.

You confuse our present day uncertainty regarding the pronunciation of the tetragrammaton, with whether OT saints knew and could pronounce it. Just because we might not be able to, doesn't mean they couldn't and didn't. In fact, a consistent interpretation of the OT makes clear that they did know how to pronounce it. Also, I do believe (rightly or wrongly) I know how to properly pronounce the tetragrammaton. Though, I don't think it's essential/necessary to know.

You can only say that by either ignoring or being ignorant of what I posted above (and in my other blogs).

They teach those lies because they don't want to call the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth "LORD".

Trinitarians affirm Jesus is Lord, as well as YHVH.

And (Genesis 1:26) does NOT say that there were three God-persons in the beginning.

The doctrine of the Trinity does not hinge on a Trinitarian interpretation of Gen. 1:26. In fact, a few years ago I changed my mind and now slightly lean towards an interpretation of Gen. 1:26 which does not allude to the Trinity but rather to the Divine Council (cf. Michael Heiser's work).

  10. Well A.P. why do you defend the doctrine of the trinity if it is not even taught in the Bible ?
For sure, in your heart you must know that the doctrine of the trinity doesn’t make sense ?

To me it sounds like a bunch of theologians throwing three persons or entities into a bucket and then they call the bucket ‘God’.

If they are exposed of their nonsense, then they quickly change from persons to entities, to aspects and then to essence and then to the meaning of certain words in other languages etc. and there is no end with their deception.

If that doesn’t show you that they don’t know God and are ignorant of the knowledge of God, then what does ?
If someone knows God, surely, such a one could say who God is.
If someone knows who his natural Father is, he will tell you immediately the name of his natural father. But trinitarians will always say that their God is THREE and HE has many names.

Well A.P. you don’t need to look very far to see their ignorance.
34 years ago I also believed that lie, therefore I fully know what they are talking about.

The whole world is standing before ONE God and that God is the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Jesus Christ ALONE is the Alpha and the Omega and He does NOT share Deity with OTHER entities. And HE is NOT a plurality !
God is Spirit (John 4:24) and He caused Himself to be born into His own creation through a virgin and His only one Name is called JESUS (Matthew 1:25) who is the Christ, God with us Emmanuel.
And to all trinitarians the Lord Jesus said that they will die in their sins unless they believe and know that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only God

    1. I just noticed your comment on my blog today.

You wrote: //Why didn't the high priest in the Gospel of Mark accuse Jesus of claiming to be God...//

First off, I would recommend your read my blogpost titled "Markan Christology" where I systematically go through the Gospel of Mark and show that the author intends on portraying Jesus as Yahweh.

      Markan Christology:
      https://trinitynotes.blogspot.com/2014/03/markan-christology.html

To answer your question directly, Jesus did claim to be God in Mark 14:62. That's the most likely reason why Jesus was accused of blasphemy and condemned to death. It wasn't a capital offense to merely claim to be the messiah. According to the Gospel of Mark [GMark], Jesus said [Mark 14:62]:

"I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."

Jesus used the phrase "I am" [ego eimi] which could have been interpreted as a claim to absolute deity. See James White's article here:

"Purpose and Meaning of “Ego Eimi” in the Gospel of John In Reference to the Deity of Christ"
      https://www.aomin.org/aoblog/1990/01/01/purpose-and-meaning-of-ego-eimi-in-the-gospel-of-john/

John 9:9, ἐγὼ εἰμί, and the Jehovah’s Witnesses (JWs) by Edward Dalcour
      https://christiandefense.org/trinity/john-99-and-the-jws/

The phrase ego eimi is also used by Jesus in Mark 6:50 in a context that's clearly theophanic. Meaning, in the style of the divine theophanies in the Old Testament. See Brant Pitre's videos I like to here where he PROVES it:

Brant Pitre on the Divinity of Jesus Revealed When He Walked On Water
      https://trinitynotes.blogspot.com/2021/05/brant-pitre-on-divinity-of-jesus.html

Moreover, Jesus' self-reference to being the "Son of Man" and "coming with the clouds of heaven" is a CLEAR reference to Dan. 7:13-14. Where there are two divine figures featured. The Ancient of Days, and "one like a son of man". The reason why the "Son of Man" is a divine figure is because He rides the clouds. In Semitic cultures only the gods did that. Notice too that this person is not only described as divine, but also like "a son of man." Meaning, like a human being. For more on this, see my blogpost here:

The Meaning of the term "Son of Man"

    2. CONTINUED FROM ABOVE:

//...if the Jesus depicted in the Gospel of John was telling crowds on numerous occasions that he was God?//

About half of the Gospel of John [GJohn] is dedicated to Jesus last few days, near the end of His life, at Jerusalem and usually under private settings. While the Synoptic Gospels [Matthew, Mark and Luke] focus in Jesus' public ministry in Galilee. For most of Jesus' ministry He kept His messiahship veiled. Preferring to declare His messiahship by His deeds rather than His words. Saving the words for the end of His ministry. Scholars call this the "Messianic Secret." See the wikipedia article on the Messianic Secret.

If Jesus kept His messiahship a secret during most of His ministry, then if He were God [the 2nd person of the Trinity], then He would all the more kept His divinity a secret. And as a matter of fact, in virtually all the places in GJohn were Jesus declares His Divinity, it's still veiled in some sense. He's hinting at it much more strongly than in the Synoptics, but it's still not perfectly clear to His original audience, even though it's meant to be clear to the readers of the Gospel. If Jesus revealed His divinity openly and overtly at the very start of His ministry, He would have been sentenced to death too early in God's plan (especially given the prophecy in Dan. 9 about the timing of the public manifestation of the Messiah). See also, Messianic Jew Arnold Fruchtenbaum's lectures on the Messiah and how He was supposed to declare His messiahship first by deeds here:

I read a bit of your story and I have to say that you jumped the gun in rejecting Christianity. You appeal to Bart Ehrman for one of your reasons for apostacizing. Yet, as has been noted by many apologists, there are two Barts. There's the scholarly Bart, and the popularizer Bart. The Bart who writes for scholars is much more precise and careful with his words. While, the popularizer Bart is less careful and more prone to hyperbole.

Also, Bart's expertise is in textual criticism. Historical Jesus studies isn't his forte. This is dramatically exposed by William Lane Craig's demonstrations of how Ehrman misunderstand, misdefines and misapplies the various "Criteria of Authenticity." See Craig's excellent lecture Here [for some strange reason cut into 6 smaller parts]:

See Robert Bowman's appraisal of Bart Ehrman's views regarding the historical Jesus and his divinity Here:
      https://youtu.be/olN438NUZAw

BTW, Ehrman NOW thinks all four Gospels teaching Jesus is Divine in some (differing) senses. He says that in his debate with Justin Bass. See James White's commentary where he plays Ehrman video statement here:

  13. friend, Jesus is not the 2nd person of a triune god, but He is Almighty God Himself. For that which is begotten of the SPIRIT (father) is that same SPIRIT (son) and not a separate entity John 3.6

father/son is a SPIRITUAL constellation of ONE ALMIGHTY GOD being in heaven and on earth at the same time reconciling the world back to Himself. 2 Sam 7 14…

It is vital that you believe in the LOVE of God His SELF sacrifice, not a selfish sacrifice of a literal father sending his literal son to be sacrificed.
